The president and vice-president have been selected on Thursday in South Gujarat’s largest APMC. Sandeep Desai, BJP MLA from Chaurasi Assembly, has been elected as the Speaker and Harshad Patel as the Deputy Speaker.
Surat APMC, the largest in south Gujarat, held elections for the posts of chairman and vice-chairman on Thursday after 14 directors were elected unopposed. Since all the directors of BJP were elected, the election for the post of President and Vice President was done by giving mandate from BJP. MLA from Chaurasi Vidhan Sabha Sandeep Desai has been elected for the post of Surat APMC chairman. While Harshad Patel has been selected for the post of Vice President.
There was a dispute regarding the Surat APMC market for a long time. Because there was a dispute regarding the old president and vice president of the market. After the BJP’s victory in the assembly elections, most of the markets in Gujarat saw one change after another. Everyone’s eyes were fixed on the market of Surat APMC. After all, the people are happy with the appointment of Sandeep Desai, who is close to the state president and MLA from Surat Chaurasi seat.
Significantly, in South Gujarat, the largest and annual turnover of more than 2500 crore tonnes APMC, the management committee elections were held on 14 seats, in which 10 farmers, union and 04 traders were elected. Besides this, there are a total of 19 seats including one seat each of Municipality, District Registrar and Surat District Agriculturist.

Before the selection of President and Vice President, Gujarat BJP State Vice President Janak Bagdanawala personally heard all the directors and on Thursday Sandeep Desai has been appointed for the post of President and Harshad Bhai Jitubhai Patel for the post of Vice President.
