Surat: Uproar over complaint of running shelter home on the basis of religion in Rander

Surat city’s Rander area has created a stir after the trust managing the shelter home alleged discrimination against the poor and destitute people on the basis of religion. There has been a stir in the administrative department after the mayor himself visited the shelter home on Tuesday after the local councilors complained about the activities going on in Surat’s Rander Shelter Home.

According to the information received from the sources, shelter homes are being constructed by the Surat Municipal Corporation in all the zone areas of the city for the convenience of the poor and destitute citizens. Whose management has been entrusted to the institution and trust. In the same sequence, there has been a lot of uproar after the complaint of discrimination on the basis of religion by the trust managing the shelter home of the Municipality located on Adajan-Gorat Road. When Mayor Hemali Boghavala visited the shelter home on the complaint of local councilor Keyur Chapatwala, there was a stir among the officials. Along with the investigation of the entire matter, the Mayor has also given necessary advice to the officials.

In this regard, local corporator Keyur Chapatwala said that for a long time complaints of discrimination on the basis of religion were being received by the managers of the trust managing this shelter home. On the basis of which, after investigation, a proposal will be placed before the administration regarding blacklisting this trust in the coming days. So that in future no other institution or trust should do such audacity.
