Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is going to virtually inaugurate the four-lane bridge for which the citizens of Vade-Variav in Surat have been waiting for years. It takes a six kilometer round trip from Katargam to Variav and Chhaprabhata. Now, due to this bridge, this distance can be covered in just one and a half to two minutes.

This will benefit about eight lakh citizens. Built at a cost of Rs 118.42 crore, the length of this bridge is about 1.50 km on the Tapi river. With the construction of this bridge, it will be much easier for the residents of Variav area to reach the main areas of the city like Chowk and Station.

Also, the residents of Wade, Katargam and other areas of Surat city will also get new connectivity from the main city to Outer Ring Road and National Highway due to the bridge. Especially the time and fuel of the citizens will be saved.

Constructed between Hayat Jahangirpura-Dabholi Tapi river bridge and Amroli river bridge, the traffic load on Amroli river bridge which is always jammed will also reduce significantly.

It is worth mentioning that this bridge was approved when Rajesh Desai was the chairman of the standing committee and advocated a new design to save the houses of the poor middle class people as many residential properties were affected in the first design of the bridge . Because of this there was a slight delay in the work of the bridge.
