Complaining of the political conflict in Mausuni Island, various individuals and NGOs did not come to distribute relief to the ‘Yaas’ victims in such a way and the locals were overwhelmed with emotion and thanked everyone after receiving the relief from Swapanasathi Foundation.

Swapnasathi distributed relief maintaining the COVID precautions in accordance with the rules with the permission of the local administration, SDPO, panchayat head.

The dream of a group of young people is called Swapanasathi Foundation.

The committee of 31 people spends the whole time in the public interest after their jobs and business. Last year not only they helped more than 2000 families but also, they have worked for the treatment and education of helpless families.

The Swapanasathi Foundation was originally supposed to work in the field of education but now they are working in all fields. This public service work is being done with the financial support of oneself and friends without any big donation or foreign cooperation. After providing financial and basic necessities to the Yaas affected families of Ashoknagar, Guma and Hingalganj, 500 Yaas affected families of Mausuni Island were given various dry food items including rice, pulses, potatoes, onions, oil, soybeans, masks, biscuits and spices.

Sourav Das, Rathindranath Biswas, Tanmoy Saha, Debajyoti Fouzder, Arnab Chakraborty, Vikram Tapadar, Palash Sajjan, Subrata Mandal, Shubhashish Sarkar, Shubhjit Biswas and Basharul Munna of Swapnasathi Foundation were present at this occasion. Sourav Das, president of the foundation, said, “I am a teacher by profession and serving people is my religion. With some friends from our school and college, we formed Swapanasathi Foundation in Habra in 2016 to serve people. Later we formed a 31-member committee with offices in Kolkata. “We are trying our level best to stand by the helpless people and our main focus is to stand by the helpless and poor but talented students. We will provide cash assistance every month to those students so that they do not stop studying due to lack of money. We may take responsibility for 100 students in private school and we will increase the number very soon. We will do other developmental works too. ”

Rabindranath Biswas, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Diamond Harbour, Special Advisor said, “Everyone in this NGO is either a school or a college mate. So I am also a “Swapanasathi”. Today we have helped 500 families in Mausuni Island. In the first week of July, we are going to support the helpless and poor families in Jangalmahal, an indigenous area. I have been there for 4 years of my career. I want my Swapanasathi to stand by everyone’s side selflessly and I will try my best.” Basharul Munna, another senior official of the organization, said, “Swapanasathi is the name of our dream. We are working in West Bengal now. The rest of my life is to stand by helpless families and economically deprived but talented students”.
