TikTok, the mobile app that became world-famous in the last few years, has been facing a severe backlash in India after TikTok star Faizal Siddiqui promoted an acid attack on women. This was not the first time that TikTok users have uploaded these kinds of vulgar videos, and also their support for anti-India movements cannot be ignored.
Propaganda During the Anti-CAA Protests
During the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests in India, TikTok users uploaded a large number of fake videos, trying to spread propaganda against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. There are several videos on TikTok in which those making the videos abused Shah and threatened to kill Modi if they did not roll back the Citizenship Amendment Act.
During the Coronavirus Outbreak
TikTok has not only tarnished India’s image at the international level during anti-CAA protests, but also during the coronavirus outbreak. Many Muslim users uploaded numerous videos in which they defy social distancing regulations and request all Islamists to continue to go to the mosque in large numbers, claiming that only their almighty Allah can cure the COVID-19 disease. Due to a gathering of the Islamic group Tablighi Jamaat at the Nizamuddin Markaz mosque in New Delhi, the coronavirus spread like wildfire in India. As of mid-April, 30% of the cases of COVID-19 in India were due to Tablighi Jamaat.
The main culprit, as per Delhi Police, Maulana Saad of Tablighi Jamaat, has been in hiding ever since a case was filed against him. But TikTok users, as usual, took his side and posted a video praising Maulana Saad. These kinds of videos, supporting the anti-CAA protests and defying social distancing regulations point toward the deeply rooted nexus of Islamists in India, and represent the preparation of the ground for jihad activity, a silent jihad in India.
There are several videos in which those making the video celebrate heinous and despicable incidents for which any decent human being would be ashamed, such as glorifying the killing of animals and acid attacks on women. Also, these Muslim TikTok users even didn’t flinch for a moment as they even glorified rape. Some videos are glorifying the practices of spitting on bread and currency notes. One video on TikTok is entitled “Coronavirus is Allah’s punishment to you,” and shows a Muslim wiping his nose with currency notes. In another video, a man in Amravati was shown spitting on bread in a bakery; the video went viral on TikTok and he was arrested.
The most astonishing aspect of this silent jihad in India is that so-called secular and liberal journalists say nothing about these hateful videos against Hindus in their articles or blogs. These journalists are bringing more shame upon India by their malevolent prejudice.
