Following the global outcry centering the forceful abduction and isolation of Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, all of the female members of the United Arab Emirates royal family are already sent into virtual isolation. None of them are allowed to possess or use any cell phone and there are dozens of surveillance cameras installed in each of those “luxury” palaces, where these unfortunate female members are living like prisoners.
One of the 23 children of Dubai’s ruler in Shaikha Mahra Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum M1. She was born on February 26, 1994 and was amongst Sheikh Maktoum’s one of the most influential daughters. She has a presence in the social media, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc., with her Facebook official page having 42,427 followers.
Sheikha Mahra was following the western lifestyle and she had been photographed in short skirt during her tours into western countries. It is also learnt that Sheikha Mahra was having extremely good relations with her half-sister Sheikha Latifa and immediately after Latifa’s attempt of fleeing Dubai and the subsequent incidents of her forceful return, the only member in the Dubai royal family who had protested the abduction of Sheikha Latifa was Sheikha Mahra. It is even learnt that Sheikha Mahra went on charging some of the key figures in her father’s administration for forceful return and isolation of Sheikha Latifa. She even had requested them to let Sheikha Latifa leave Dubai and live her life wherever she wants. But it was Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, who had first confronted Sheikha Mahra by accusing her of “plotting renegade” inside the royal family. At a point, Sheikha Mahra went into an altercation with Princess Haya and had branded the sixth junior wife of Sheikh Maktoum as a “witch”.
Following her altercation with Sheikha Mahra centering the Latifa case, Princess Haya brought the matter to the attention of Sheikh Maktoum and suggested him to send his daughters into isolation and “cut off all communications” so that none of them could communicate with anyone outside the palaces.
What had happened to Sheikha Mahra is still unknown though, it is highly anticipated that she too has become a sufferer of Sheikh Maktoum’s cruelty.
