UP: Yogi government’s action plan to eliminate drugs syndicate, cases will be run in fast track court, there will be attachment

Lucknow: In order to crack down on drug mafia in UP, cases related to them will now be tried in fast track courts. For this, special courts will be set up, so that the culprits in such cases can be punished as soon as possible and its business can be effectively curbed. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Said that under the NDPS Act, special courts should be set up in the districts with maximum number of pending cases.

Action will be taken against every person associated with drugs business

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked to investigate the source of drugs and trace them and also to end their network. He said that people involved in the illegal business of drug trafficking are enemies of society and humanity. Zero tolerance policy should be adopted in such cases. There is a need to intensify the campaign against illegal manufacture, purchase and sale of drugs and drug trafficking in the state.

Attachment action will be taken against the culprits

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that action should be taken with full preparation by preparing strong intelligence and better action plan. Strictest action including attachment should be taken against those involved in such cases.

New zone headquarter of Narcotics Control Bureau will open in Gorakhpur

Meanwhile, the Narcotics Control Bureau, Government of India has decided to set up a new zone headquarters in Gorakhpur. For this, it will be the responsibility of the UP government to provide land and other resources. The Uttar Pradesh government constituted the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) in August 2022.

ANTF has many rights

ANTF has all necessary rights like search, seizure, arrest, attachment, custody, deliberation. Presently NTF police stations have been established in Gorakhpur, Meerut and Barabanki, expanding the infrastructure facilities in ANTF. Five operational units are functional. Now in the next phase police stations will also be made functional in Jhansi, Saharanpur and Ghazipur.
