A mob attacked with deadly weapons and pelted stones in Baranpura area of Vadodara city last night, leaving a father and son seriously injured. Regarding the incident, the police have taken legal action against 19 attackers on the basis of complaint by registering offenses under other sections including assault.
Kiran More, a resident of Baranpura and associated with the construction business, has told in the complaint that after having dinner last night, he went out for a walk as per rules. On the way, Subhash Chunara’s son Sahil Chunara and Akash Chunara were standing on the road. He asked me why are you roaming here. Saying this, suddenly Subhash’s son came with a sword, Pappu Chunara iron pipe, Kiran Chunara bat and suddenly attacked me. In which I have got serious injuries.
When my father and neighbors tried to save me, Kabir Chunara and Shivam Chunara attacked with bricks, injuring my father. A mob of about twelve people, including Sahil Chunara, pelted stones and chanted anti-caste words. Based on the above complaint in connection with the incident, the police have registered an FIR against Subhash’s sons Sahil Chunara, Akash Chunara, Pappu Chunara Tomato Wala, Kiran Chunara, Kabir Chunara, Shivam Chunara (all residents of Chunara Vas, Baranpura) and about 12 other unknown persons. By registering crimes in other sections including rioting, assault, intimidation, the cycle of their arrest has been set in motion.
