Buddhist religious leader Dalai Lama will come to Bihar on 28 September. It is believed that on the invitation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he will inaugurate Vaishali’s Buddha Smriti Stupa and Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum. Before his arrival, preparations have started to complete the construction of Vaishali’s Buddha Smriti Stupa and Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum with quality. Regarding this, a joint meeting of Building Construction Department Minister Ashok Chaudhary and Art-Culture and Youth Department Minister Jitendra Rai and senior officials of both the departments was held on Thursday. Also a separate meeting was held with the contractors.

In this meeting held at the Building Construction Department located at Visvesvaraya Bhavan, discussions were held on other main projects including Buddha Smriti Stupa and Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum, Nalanda Stadium. Instructions were given to remove the obstacles in their construction. According to sources, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had inspected the construction of this mega project several times. Along with this, instructions were given to complete the work soon with quality.
Work order was issued in March 2019
Vaishali’s Buddha Smriti Stupa and Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum comes under Art-Culture and Youth Department. The responsibility of making it and handing it over to the department has been given to the building construction department. The estimated cost of this project, being built in an area of about 72 acres, was about Rs 301 crore. The work order for this was issued in March 2019. Also, the deadline to complete it was October 2021, but it was delayed due to technical reasons including the Corona crisis. After its construction, tourists from all over the world will come to see it. Work is also going on to connect this place with the Buddhist circuit and to make connectivity with the road to Bodh Gaya and Vaishali. Now most of the tourists return from Bodh Gaya only.

Building Construction Minister Ashok Kumar Chaudhary has given information about this meeting by tweeting on Thursday. He has written in the tweet, construction of Bihar full of opportunities and possibilities, in the meeting held in the departmental meeting room in the presence of respected cabinet colleague Jitendra Rai, the department reviewed the progress of the implemented schemes related to art, culture and youth department in detail. In this, proper guidelines were given to the present officers for quality construction of the schemes in a time-bound manner.
