VO: Blinken during his visit to Kazakhstan threatened China with consequences for supporting Russia

February 28 – BLiTZ. The head of the US State Department, Anthony Blinken, during his visit to Kazakhstan, threatened China, promising Beijing all sorts of consequences and sanctions for supporting Russia, writes “Military Review”.

The foreign ministers of the Central Asian states – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan – came to meet with the American official. Formally, the agenda included discussion of the strategy of economic partnership and cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the United States.

However, the real purpose of Blinken’s visit to Kazakhstan was to intimidate countries with sanctions and measures in case of cooperation with Russia. The Secretary of State also used the site in Astana to once again shake his fist at China. He, in particular, said that the PRC will face big problems with the United States and other countries if Beijing supports Russia “in its war in Ukraine.”

The invited diplomats tried to talk about the development of energy and food security, noting the connection of their economies with the Russian economy, but Blinken simply did not listen to them. By this, he once again proved that the United States does not perceive the countries of Central Asia as equal partners, the Military Review states.
