VRS will be given to three hundred officers and jawans of Assam Police: Chief Minister

Guwahati, 30 April (Hindustan Times). Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that VRS will be given to 300 Assam Police personnel and officers who are believed to be addicted to alcohol. Making another big announcement, the Chief Minister said that there will be new investment in Assam on 9th May.

Chief Minister Dr. Sarma was talking to the media after listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ at state BJP headquarters Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhavan on Sunday. In response to a question, Chief Minister Dr. Sarma said that there is a rule to give VRS. Only here it was not given. There are about 300 officers and jawans of the Assam Police who are always drunk. It has become a habit of his. His body is unable to function due to the consumption of alcohol. Therefore VRS will be given to such police personnel and officers. New children will get work in their place.

Making another big announcement, the Chief Minister said that there will be new investment in Assam on 9th May. There will be MoUs worth about Rs 10,000 crore for new investment. Meanwhile, Madhavdev Kalakshetra will be unveiled in Bihpuria on May 10. On the other hand, the Chief Minister said that the Chief Minister Ayushman Assam, an annual free medical scheme of Rs 5 lakh to all ration card holders, would be inaugurated on the evening of the coming 10th and various appointment letters would be distributed on 11th May.

In response to another question, the Chief Minister said that there would be no expansion of the cabinet before the Lok Sabha elections. In response to another question, the Chief Minister said that now a Deputy Commissioner’s office would be set up in each constituency. The Deputy Commissioner’s office will not be only at the district level. Also said that discussions are going on to make the district administration more powerful and decentralised.

p style=”text-align: justify;”>Now 126 District Deputy Commissioner offices will be set up in 126 assembly constituencies of the state so that the work of the general public of the state can be done easily and immediately. An Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) will be appointed in all the offices. The Chief Minister said that the issue would be discussed in detail in the District Deputy Commissioners’ Conference to be held at Tinsukia on May 12, 13 and 14. This issue has also been discussed in the cabinet meeting.

The Chief Minister said that all the work of the District Deputy Commissioner’s office would be done in the Deputy Commissioner’s offices to be established in the constituency. So without a district, every constituency would now be a district in a way. Meanwhile, the chief minister said that the district deputy commissioners in the districts would look after the law and order situation and look after other works.
