Who is responsible for Sisodia’s responsibility in AAP? Kejriwal sent two names to LG

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has sent the names of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj to the Lieutenant Governor for cabinet appointments. Sources claimed this on Wednesday. This step has been taken after the resignation of Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain.

Bhardwaj is currently the national spokesperson of the party and serves as the vice-chairman of the Delhi Jal Board. Bhardwaj, an MLA from Greater Kailash, was also a minister in the first term of the AAP government.

Atishi, who represents the Kalkaji constituency, has been a key member of Sisodia’s Shiksha Dal. He also contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from the East Delhi constituency, but lost to Gautam Gambhir of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Sisodia was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) last Sunday in connection with alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy. Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in May last year in a money laundering case.

Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain resigned from the Arvind Kejriwal-led cabinet amid sustained attack from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over corruption charges against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders. Till the new ministers are appointed, Sisodia’s portfolios have been given to Kailash Gehlot and Anand.
