On March 28 last, he was shot dead by the police of Okri police station for not wearing a helmet during vehicle checking. About 20 years old Sudhir Kumar Maima was a resident of Korthu village. Injured Sudhir was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Patna after treatment at Hilsa in Nalanda district. After the death of Sudhir, there is chaos in the family. Sudhir was the only child in the family.
With the help of the local people, he was brought to the hospital for treatment.
Regarding the incident, it is told that on March 28, the police of Okri police station was checking vehicles near Anantapur village of Okri police station area. At the same time, this young man was going to Bandhuganj market on a motorcycle. Due to not having a helmet, this young man got scared after seeing the vehicle checking and started running away from there. Meanwhile, Inspector Mumtaz Alam, posted at Okri police station, shot the young man from behind. Even after being shot, the young man kept moving ahead of the motorcycle, but after going some distance, he fell on the roadside. After this, with the help of the local people, he was brought to the hospital for treatment. After informing his family members, the family admitted him to a private hospital in Hilsa. From there the doctors referred him to Patna for better treatment.
Inspector Mumtaz Alam arrested
He was undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Patna. He died during treatment late on Thursday night. However, after this incident, Jehanabad SP Deepak Ranjan had suspended a total of 5 people including the then Okri police station chief Chandrahas Singh accused inspector Mumtaz Alam. Inspector Mumtaz Alam, who fired the bullet, has been arrested and sent to jail, after the news of the youth’s death, the family members are in a bad state of crying and there has been an outcry in the family.
