March 23 - BLiTZ. Heads of state and other senior officials are immune from decisions of the International Criminal Court, said briefing on Thursday, March 23, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

This is regulated by the norms of international law, Zakharova noted, and no decisions of any courts can cancel it. She also noted that Russia has never been a member of the ICC and is not going to cooperate with this structure in the future, although such calls are constantly received.

Recall that on March 17, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for President Vladimir Putin and Children’s Ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova on charges of illegally taking Ukrainian children out of the country. The Kremlin called this decision meaningless and insignificant from a legal point of view.
