Abbas-Alloush’s ‘fantastic lie’ of the Holocaust

Holocaust Denial is a favorite sport and a pastime among a certain group of Muslims who cannot allow themselves to admit that there had ever been a Holocaust in which six million Jews were murdered, for recognition of that truth might increase sympathy for the Jews, and thus for the Zionists, and that would never do. In France some Muslim students have refused to study the Holocaust, which is part of the national history curriculum, for that very reason: they don’t want to hear about it, they don’t want to think about it, they don’t want anyone else to learn about it.

The best known of the Arab Holocaust deniers is none other than Mahmoud Abbas, President-for-Life of the Palestinian Authority, now in the 15th year of his four-year term. In 1984 he earned his doctorate at Patrice Lumumba University with a thesis entitled The Other Side: the Secret Relationship Between Nazism and Zionism. According to Abbas, the Zionists were in cahoots with the Nazis: those wicked Zionists figured that if the Nazis persecuted Jews in Europe, more of them would flee to Palestine. And for the Zionists, that was all that mattered.

In his thesis Abbas said the “so-called” Holocaust had been exaggerated and Zionists had created the “myth of the six million dead,” which was, according to Abbas, a ”fantastic lie.”

Here is a key paragraph in Abbas’ dissertation:

It seems that the interest of the Zionist movement, however, is to inflate this figure [of Holocaust deaths] so that their gains will be greater. This led them to emphasize this figure [six million] in order to gain the solidarity of international public opinion with Zionism. Many scholars have debated the figure of six million and reached stunning conclusions — fixing the number of Jewish victims at only a few hundred thousand.”

Elsewhere in his work, Abbas says that perhaps a somewhat greater number or Jews, possibly as many as 800,000, died. But he was sure of one thing –the total was nowhere near six million; that claim ha to have been a deliberate fabrication.

In May 2018, in a televised address to the Palestinian Parliament, Abbas blamed European Jews’ “social function” — specifically “usury and banking and such” — as the basis for the animosity toward them that led to their mass murder (“only 800,000” still qualifies as mass murder). Abbas claimed his views are backed by Jewish authors, whose books conclude “that animosity toward Jews was not because of their religion but because of their social activities.”

I was reminded of Abbas — whom so many seem to have forgotten, or perhaps never knew, is a Holocaust denier — when I read at MEMRI.org about another, very recent, example of the same dreary type, one Dr Ibrahim Alloush. Dr. Alloush is a Jordanian-Palestinian academic, who was interviewed on the television program Palestine Today on December 17, where he went beyond Abbas’s minimizing of the Holocaust to denying it altogether. The MEMRI.org report on Alloush, who spent 14 years in the U.S. and received his doctorate from Oklahoma State in economics.

Kuwaiti-born Jordanian-Palestinian academic Dr. Ibrahim Alloush, said in an interview on Palestine Today TV (Lebanon) on December 27, 2020 that the Westerners are fed up of hearing Jewish claims of victimhood. He said that Jews hold the whole world responsible for antisemitic persecution and massacres, which culminated in the “so-called Holocaust.” Dr. Alloush added that no Jew or non-Jew died in the gas chambers, because there we no gas chambers. Dr. Alloush teaches at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan. He had lived and studied in the U.S. for 14 years until he got his PhD from Oklahoma State University.

Dr. Ibrahim Alloush: “What some people do not understand is that Westerners are fed up with the claims about the historical victimhood of the Jews and about the whole world being antisemitic. The [Jews] have [they claim] gone through persecution and a series of massacres, for which they hold the entire world responsible. The culmination of this persecution and those massacres is the so-called Holocaust.

“They claim that they were burned in gas chambers, but not a single person — Jewish or non-Jewish — died in a gas chamber, because there were no gas chambers at all.”

“No gas chambers at all” in what Alloush dismisses as that “so-called Holocaust”?

No gas chambers in the extermination camps at Auschwitz-Birkenau, Sobibor, Treblinka, Belzec, Chelmno, Majdanek? No gas chambers in those mobile gas vans that were used to kill at least 700,000 Jews, especially in the Soviet Union?

Were all those gas chambers mentioned in the memoirs of Primo Levi, Elie Wiesel, Olga Lengyel, Krystyna Zywulska, and hundreds of others – French, Dutch, German, Italian, Hungarian, Czech, Slovak, Polish, Ukrainian, and Russian Jews – mere figments of the Jewish imagination, made up out of whole cloth by people trying to win sympathy for the Zionist project?

Were they all made up, those photos and videos taken by the American, British, Russian forces who liberated the death camps – videos that slowly panned over the gas chambers, and the mountains of corpses of those who had recently been gassed so the Germans had not time to burn them, and destroy the evidence? Were those rooms piled high with eyeglasses taken from the dead, and other rooms piled even higher with shoes taken from those about to be killed – all fabrications, part of some fantastic Jewish, or more exactly, Zionist plot to win sympathy?

Here is Ibrahim Alloush, the complete Holocaust denier even more extreme than Mahmoud Abbas, for he won’t admit that any Jews were murdered by the Nazis. He’s a professor of economics, who is a regular columnist for the Jordanian weekly newspaper Assabeel, an editor of the online publication Arab Voice, an active participant in the Association Against Zionism and Racism, a guest on numerous television shows in Jordan and Lebanon, where he is invited to take part in debates (in one he suggests that Palestinian suicide bombers armed with “small nuclear weapons “ should fan out across Israel and detonate themselves) – in short, this sinister crackbrain is presented as a perfectly respectable commentator on world and regional events, treated with respect rather than heaped with the ridicule and met with the disgust that is his proper due.

But why should we be surprised? Isn’t the man who for 15 yeas has been head of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, another Holocaust denier? Doesn’t he differ from Ibrahim Alloush only in the numbers of Jews he’s willing, most reluctantly, to concede might – “might” – in fact have been killed by the Nazis during that “fantastic lie” that has come to be known, because of Zionist propaganda, as the Holocaust?
