Kim Jong Un pushes ahead desperate ambitions

According to leaked intelligence reports, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un celebrated his birthday with a long wish-list of new weapons. It included more accurate long-range missiles, super large warheads, spy satellites and a nuclear-powered submarine. The military plans announced during one of the biggest political events in North Korea in the last five years may sound threatening – and it is indeed a threat. Writes Tajul Islam

Western broadcasters are mocking at North Korea. They are seeing another famine in the country due to “Covid-19 difficulties and harsh sanctions”. Western journalists are seeing Pyongyang’s promotional contents of potato on the print and broadcast media as a sign of imminent famine. No one actually can accurately predict what is really happening inside North Korea though, but, in my understanding North Korean leadership, especially Kim Jong Un, definitely is not feeling nervous – at least until now and there is really no reason to predict another famine in that country. Instead, most possibly Kim Jong Un and his trusted comrades are taking preparations for a series of “surprise” actions – pretty soon.

Kim Jong Un, who has also now been promoted to Secretary General (the highest rank of the ruling Worker’s Party), is no more willing to waste time by waiting in the hope of the harsh sanctions be lifted. By now, the supreme leadership of North Korea realizes – United States, especially under Joe Biden and war-monger Democrats would not let permanent peace be established in the Korean Peninsula. Because, this would go against America’s interest, as it will lose grip over South Korea, a country that has been treated by the US as mere concubine. Even if the South Korean leaders want, they won’t be able to normalize relations with their fellow North Koreans, because international politics – more precisely American politics won’t let that happen. United States wants a never-ending conflict and crisis within the Korean Peninsula.

The second reason of America’s unwillingness of letting the Korean crisis get resolved is – once the TWO KOREAS come under agreements of mutual cooperation and abandon their decade-old rivalries, KOREANS will emerge as the most prosperous and powerful nations in the region, which may not be a good news for most of the neighbors of South and North Korea.

Joe Biden does not take North Korea seriously

Until now, it is clear, US president Joe Biden and his administration are not taking North Korea seriously at all. Policymakers in Washington has failed to realize, Kim Jong Un’s announcements no doubt was meant to emphasize to the Biden administration that a failure to take quick action will result in North Korea qualitatively advancing its capabilities.

Actually, for Joe Biden, he already is overburdened with too many challenges. His government is unable to paying Covid-19 stimulus cheque to millions of people. American economic backbone will crack, if Biden continues the stimulus cheque project for just five months.

Joe Biden already knows by now, the Covid-19 crisis is not going to disappear even by the end of 2021. It will continue. Meaning – America is in real crisis. Meaning, American administration doesn’t have the energy to think about the Korean issues – at least for the time being.
