Pakistani PM Imran Khan considers Osama Bin Laden as ‘martyr’.

Pakistan, a failed state in South Asia has always been known for its notoriety of promoting and patronizing militancy and terrorism. It is the only country in the world, after Iran, which has state policy of promoting terrorism. Ruling elites of Pakistan are mostly radical Muslims with heavy inclination towards jihad, anti-Semitism and anti-West notions. Pakistan considers terror-patron Iran, for example or mega-terror outfit Hamas as its brethren, as Pakistani policymakers believe, Iran, Hamas and similar terrorist entities can only expand the dominance of Islam throughout the world.

There are plenty of public pronouncements from Imran Khan, Prime Minister of Pakistan that proves, he is clearly in support of radical Islam and jihad. He rejects secularism and even democracy, and he dreams of becoming the leader of the Muslim world. While Turkish dictator Recep Tayyip Erdogan is having the notorious ambition of re-establishing Ottoman Empire [read Ottoman Caliphate], Pakistani PM Imran Khan too is hoping for bringing the world under the rule of Taliban-type rogue system.

Recently, Pakistani Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, referring to his Imran Khan’s statement terming Al Qaeda kingpin Osama Bin Laden as martyr said, it was a “slip of the tongue”.

Speaking on Geo News program titled Jirga, Chaudhry said, Pakistan had voted in favor of Al Qaeda being listed on the terrorist list at the United Nations and that it followed international law.

“It was a slip of the tongue. He [Imran Khan] had clarified it”, the minister said while referring to Pakistani Prime Minister’s remarks.

In June last year, while speaking about the country’s relations with the United States in an all-encompassing speech in the parliament, Imran Khan said, Pakistan had to face a lot of “humiliation” despite supporting Washington in the war on terror and was then blamed for the US’s failures in Afghanistan.

Recalling the case of Bin Laden, Imran Khan said, “The Americans came to Abbottabad and killed, martyred Osama bin Laden. What happened after that? The entire world cursed at us and spoke ill of us”.

At the time, Benzir Bhutto’s son and Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari lambasted Prime Minister Imran Khan for his remarks saying the prime minister’s choice of words was consistent with “his history of appeasement of violent extremism”.

Special Assistant to Imran Khan for Political Communication Dr Shahbaz Gill tried to burry the controversy stating, Imran Khan had twice used the word “killed” for Osama bin Laden, in addition to martyr.

Osama Bin Laden a martyr?

Pakistani politicians seem to be unwilling to accept Bin Laden or Al Qaeda as terrorists, similarly as they are not considering Hamas as a mega-terrorist entity.

Last week, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi refrained from calling Osama bin Laden a terrorist in an interview with Afghanistan’s Tolo News. When the interviewer quoted Prime Minister Imran Khan as calling Osama Bin Laden a “martyr”, Qureshi said: “Well, again. Out of context. He was quoted out of context. And, a particular section of the media pair it up”.

Asked if he would disagree, the Pakistani foreign minister paused for a while and then said, “I will let it pass”.

When asked about Qureshi’s remarks by anchor Saleem Safi, Chaudhry said the foreign minister’s refusal to call bin Laden a terrorist might have had to do with his desire to “move forwards, instead of looking at the past”.

Don’t these remarks clearly expose Pakistan’s real agenda of patronizing and appeasing terrorism and jihad? If we will look into the past track record of the Pakistani governments and its notorious spy agency ISI, we can only know, for decades, Pakistan’s key agenda has been terrorizing the neighboring nations by promoting terrorism and criminal acts in various forms.

International community should take note of Imran Khan and his official’s statement on Osama Bin Laden.
