Elon Musk and Twitter have major problems

0

Twitter continues to be even more than problematic than before.

Never trust anything that can think for itself and you don’t know where it keeps its brain – J.K. Rowling as quoted by Cynthia Storer former CIA analyst -Bin Laden

Over four years ago I published an article on the importance of the human being who is responsible for creating AI algorithms. I argued that algorithms would only be as good as the person who creates them. For my essay entitled The Utility of a Psychoanalytic Mentality concerning Artificial Intelligence and the Jihadis: The Need to Integrate Maternal Attachment and the Shame of the Jihadis into those Algorithms.

Two days ago, this reality was driven home to me and proven when my Twitter account was blocked allegedly for being “violent”! Ironically and, in fact, I was arguing against the jihadi “mullah terror entity” i.e. the Iranian regime that has murdered countless innocent men, women and children. Who is the violent one here? Talk about a defective AI program! The demand by Twitter that I delete the Tweet is cited herein with my embedded tweet in bold:

I appealed to no avail.

I follow Avi Kaner who is Principal at Samawal Foundations LLC daily. His tweets are always brilliantly succinct, effective and compassionate. I had retweeted one of his and added a comment to it. I was stunned, but only for a moment, when Twitter blocked me. I subsequently ran the tweet passed a couple of colleagues including Professor Gunther Jikeli, who is Director of the Institute for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism at Indiana University. He had just circulated the following report entitled Conversations About Jews on Twitter: Recent Developments Since Elon Musk’s Takeover found here.

Indiana University also happens to be my alma mater for my Bachelor’s Degree. When I was a student, there was no Department of Jewish Studies and no Institute for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism. Only because of the hard work of Professor Emeritus Alvin Rosenfeld does Indiana University now benefit from this ground-breaking work. It was at IU where I experienced antisemitism for the first time.

I sent Professor Jikeli the screen shot of my tweet. He replied that he saw nothing wrong with it but the “Algorithms may have detected”:

Will have permanent insomnia soon and they deserve it.

Finally, another colleague, Dalia Levine, PhD, commented:

“[And] I thought Elon Musk was allowing everything? Not that I see anything wrong with this.”

And so, it goes. Twitter continues to be even more than problematic than before. It silences the very individuals who are not the problem, not the perpetrators. Just who is the jihadi terrorist here? Twitter’s skewed AI program demonstrates its glaring defectiveness and potential for inciting violence. I will not delete my Tweet. I stand by it precisely because I do not trust “something” that allegedly thinks for itself and yet I do not know where it keeps its brain.
