The cowardice and incompetence of UK mainstream media exposed

0

There are certain issues of such global importance that it defies moral decency when UK mainstream media determines they are unworthy of reporting. Paradoxically giving saturation exposure to issues of relative irrelevance appears to be the norm. This general statement needs some clarification, elaboration and references to justify and validate my thought processes which surely align with our readers.

During the last forty plus years on the African continent there have been at least three genocides; extermination of black, African Christian communities by Islamists in the Sahel region and in Nigeria; apartheid in Mauritania, civil war and slavery in Libya, Ethiopia and Eritrea and Sudan. In post-apartheid South Africa there are on average 64 daily recorded tribal murders and double that number of unrecorded murders, Xhosa on Zulu and Zulu on Xhosa. In Somalia, Iraq, and Syria atrocities on civilians occur daily, geographies where thousands have been slaughtered by a variety of Islamist groups. Turkey has been conducting military atrocities on Kurds for decades and Armenia and Azerbaijan are at war.

On these above examples can anyone of you familiar with BBC news or political TV programs during this period ever remember any in-depth reporting of any of these issues. Seriously can anyone remember those BBC programs, Question Time or Any Questions run by the BBC’s compliant and sycophantic Dimbleby brothers, debate the genocides in the Central African Republic, Rwanda or the Democratic Republic of Congo where millions died. The answer is an emphatic negative and BBC news were content to ignore. Those black lives did not matter.

I submit to my readers that only rarely have such issues been reported and even then, only mildly, perhaps a passing reference.  Just last week over one hundred civilian Africans were killed and over three hundred wounded many critically by two car bomb explosions in Somalia. The BBC news gave this just ten seconds of reporting time and other mainstream news channels ignored totally. Clearly these black lives did not matter to the UK mainstream media.

There are domestic issues of such importance which are also ignored by the UK’s mainstream media such as the decades of sexual abuse perpetrated by British Pakistani Muslims in various locations within England on white working-class underage girls. All known to police, politicians, council staff, members of Parliament and the media but only silence from the British press – and silence is assent.  It was only GB News a relatively new, non-mainstream channel who exposed these pedophiliac crimes.  In the UK, Pakistani Muslims seem to be a no-go area when negative news applies, that is when those of that ethnic group are the perpetrators of the offence. When the one off report from the BBC did cover this major crime the perpetrators were exposed as Asian – well that could be Japanese, Korean, Thai, or a host of other ethnic nationalities. But the sexual perverts were British Pakistani Muslims. The BBC did not differentiate. Reporting incompetence by those racists at the BBC hiding the perverted pedophiles from one single, identifiable ethnic minority. Imagine if the sexual deviants were white British or Jewish, one wonders what collective term the BBC editors would have used as collective descriptions. I doubt European would have been the adjective.

Regarding international news similar applies. Very recently Pakistan through storms and flood, suffered huge loss of life, irreparable damage to infrastructure and agriculture and consequently disease and famine are ravaging the country. Pleas for financial aid are swamping our screens as a numerous charity compete for funds. Perversely the Pakistani elite enjoy the T20 cricket world cup with the unedifying and rather nauseating advert that each ‘hit for six’ financially benefits the flood victims.

Given that Pakistan spends billions of dollars on nuclear weapons and hundreds of millions funding various Islamic militant groups causing chaos in India and Afghanistan, and notwithstanding the Pakistani rich are more interested in cricket, I would think the charities should be looking for funds domestically. Maybe the Charities begging for money could approach the hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis who have taken time off from work to march on the capital in support of the ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan. The Pakistani poor are wallowing in filth yet the media has now forgotten them and concentrates on the Pakistani cricket team and a political march by an ousted ex-Prime Minister who coincidentally was also a great cricketer.

As I write a failed assassination attempt has been thwarted and this news will certainly demote the Pakistani flood victims further down the worthy of news reporting agenda.

And then there are the Sheedis of Pakistan. Who you ask? The Sheedis – the black African underclass of Pakistani society mainly located in lower Sindh, Karachi and Baluchistan. No census has verified their numbers but around one million plus would seem reasonable.  Treated with contempt; treated as slaves; treated as dogs and the victims of pure racial apartheid. Black Africans at the mercy of brown Pakistanis. Their lives are those of the very underclass of any society – absolute victims of true apartheid. They are barred from Government jobs proper education and housing and have been for years. But you have never encountered their plight, poverty nor suffering because the UK mainstream media have never reported on them. Too embarrassing to report negatively on Pakistani Muslims maybe because that certain ethnic group are sheltered from negative press.

One wonders why no black politicians within the UK nor the anti-apartheid mob, BBC or Guardian journalists have ever exposed the atrocities committed upon them by the brown Muslims of Pakistan. Why no UN enquiry? Where is Black Lives Matter or as with the African victims noted above do or do not these black lives matter either?

Several courageous writers have exposed the plight of the Sheedis but to no avail. The article by Annam Lodhi in the Africa Report and a 2019 article by Shadi Khan Saif on slavery are truly enlightening. The silence is however deafening and those in our Parliament and media who have ignored this human tragedy should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

The mainstream media driven by bias and professional incompetence are very selective on those issues they choose to expose to the general public. Shame on them and praise to publications like Blitz with the courage to highlight the plight of those victims who endure daily victimization such as the Sheedis.
