Thousands of Palestinian children fall victims of incest, pedophile

While Democratic Party is becoming the nasty wagon of anti-Israel, anti-Semite, anti-Zionist and pro-Islamist and pro-jihadist elements such as Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib etcetera, research-scholar and one of the members of the editorial board of Blitz, Peter Baum has provided series of shocking information in his recent article stating Palestinian girls identified that eight percent had been raped by their brothers and five percent raped by their fathers.

Here the most unfortunate fact is – most of the newspapers in the world do not have the guts of exposing the truth about Palestinians. Instead, in most cases, Western journalists, columnist and writers are seen competing in demonizing Israel while making every attempts of portraying Palestinian terrorists including Hamas as heroes or “noble souls”. Here is just one example from thousands:

Back in January 27, 2010, Antonia Zerbisias is a columnist for the Toronto Star in an article titled ‘Gazan weddings not about pedophilia’ made frantic bids in portraying Hamas as a noble entity. Although at the beginning of this article, Zerbisias said: “I’m not writing this column to defend Hamas”, even a kid will sense her mission behind this project. In her eyes, Israel is a “cruel” country.

Antonia Zerbisias even attacked Debbie Schlussel and Paul L. Williams for exposing the acts of pedophilia in Gaza and within the Palestinian community. She made every attempt of whitewashing the matter in favor of Hamas and Palestinian terrorists.

Zerbisias wrote: “…Which would explain why, within a matter of days, blogger Debbie Schlussel and “Last Crusader” Paul L. Williams, swooped in to claim that Hamas was supporting pedophilia and that these poor children were being married off to men old enough to be their fathers.

“This is not to say that child brides don’t suffer elsewhere. The list of places is long. Too long.

“But Gaza is not on it”.

Global media has always been shy in exposing the thousands of cases of incest, pedophilia, rape at home within the Palestinian society. It may be mentioned here that Palestinian law, both in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, fails to clearly prohibit incest and does nothing to protect female victims of sexual abuse within families. Large number of Palestinian females are driven into prostitution after repeated sexual assault by their older brothers and father.

The three Abrahamic religions – Judaism, Christianity and Islam as well as civil laws and regulations are in agreement against sexual acts among relatives, or incest. Such acts are considered a threat to communities, as they destabilize the core of all societies: the family. Despite the criminal and social taboo aspects, which humanity is generally in agreement on, Palestinian communities, continue to deviate from this proscription.

A Palestinian female named Samah (23) told Al Monitor that her brother, a Tramadol addict [Tramadol is an opioid analgesic and opioid activity is the overriding contributor to its pharmacological effects. Abuse and adverse events of tramadol are similar to those of other opioid analgesics], first tried to rape her when she was just 16. Being repeatedly attempted of being raped by her brother, Samah ran away from home and was put into protective custody by the police, until an “honorable” man, who was a member of Palestinian jihadist outfit married her. But her brother resurfaced, threatened to ruin her relationship with her husband if she did not steal for him, which she had to do. This crime of incest led to her arrest, imprisonment and subsequent divorce.

Samah, shattered by the ordeal, returned to her brother’s house, where with the encouragement of the latter and his wife, she also became addicted to Tramadol. Her doped-up body thus became easy prey for her brother, and she grew to find the arrangement normal, particularly when she found out that her three sisters also had sexual relations with him. Her body trivialized, the girl became a prostitute and she uncovered her head, and started wearing tight jeans and was selling sex to multiple men in a single night.

According to Palestinian psychologist Yousef Awadallah, director of the Rafah Governmental Mental Health Clinic, the victimized woman of incest thus develops hatred toward men and an aversion to marriage. “Some girls go down a path of self-destruction as a result of the great shock that they were subjected to, and promiscuity is one of the avenues employed by girls who are assaulted or raped”.

He said, significant number of Palestinian girls volunteer in becoming suicide attackers or suicide bombers as being mentally devastated being raped by their own brother/s and father.

Research into the prevalence of incest within the Palestinian society and the subsequent sexual deviance of victims reveals that a predisposition to such incidents start at the family level, where societies are born.

Hanan Daher, a psychologist and sociologist at the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution told reporters that female victims of incest often head down destructive paths.

“Remaining silent is the gravest of harms that parents can inflict on their daughters. Girls who fall victim to incest usually go down one of two paths: They either become complacent and seek to satisfy their urges through illegal means, or they begin committing crimes in their quest to take their revenge on society”.

Daher added that 80 percent of female inmates convicted of lewdness in Gaza Prison were subjected from a young age to sexual abuse at the hands of parents or relatives, with some of them being forced to watch pornographic movies and pictures.

Other psychologists point to many social causes behind the rise of incest cases in the Gaza Strip. A mental and social health specialist at Sihati Mental Health Clinics, Ahmad al-Khalidi, said that some cases have emerged in extended families that live under the same roof, when social controls break down in such weakly managed environments. In these close quarters, interaction between relatives is more intimate than that in single-family homes.

“The lack of religious morals among some is a primary reason for that, not to mention that families suffering from incest keep their woes secret, while the failure to punish perpetrators is also leading to an increase in cases”, he said.

Ahmad Khalidi estimated that five out of every 1,000 people are victims of incest, an unofficial number that can’t be substantiated. He added, “The problem we face is that society’s view of mental disorders in general is erroneous, let alone regarding incest”.

Article 155 of the Mandate Criminal Code Ordinance, No. 74 of 1936, in force in the Gaza Strip, states: “Anyone who goes to bed, in an unlawful manner, with an unmarried girl over 16 years of age but not yet 21, or aids or helps another to go to bed with her illegally, with the girl being a descendant of him or his wife, or when he is her guardian, or entrusted with her education or care, shall be considered to have committed a felony punishable by five years’ imprisonment”.

Lawyers said the above-mentioned law itself is wrong, as it states that raping a female relative is punishable by five years in prison, while it stipulated that the penalty for raping a non-relative girl is 14 years. It is as if its aim is to encourage the raping of relatives; not to mention that it only addressed the rape of a young unmarried relative, without allusion to the rape of an adult married one.

The Jordanian law in force in the West Bank and that of the Gaza Strip both consider incest a consensual act between male and female relatives. The Gaza law associates free will and percipience with marriage, and deems a married female competent in sexual matters. Therefore, sex between her and a relative is considered consensual.

According to experts, a large portion of the leaders and members of Palestinian jihadist groups in Gaza themselves have past or even present record of incest. Many of them have sexual relations with their sisters or even daughters.

The United Nations in a report said, Palestinian women and girls face discrimination and risk of gender-based violence (GBV), including early/forced marriage, intimate partner/family violence, sexual harassment, rape, incest, denial of resources, psychological abuse and risk of sexual exploitation and abuse.

Palestinian children victims of pedophilia

Back in 2015, when a prominent leader of Hamas was accused of engaging in sex acts with young boys after enticing them with promises of teaching them jihad and the Quran, the Gaza-based mega-terror outfit made frantic bids in burying this issue.

According to report, Hamas leader pretended to be teaching the boys martial arts. He evaluated their “performance” and if he felt that they would not resist, he would make his move. He told them that the sex acts were allowed under Islamic law if it was consensual, and he characterized the children who fell under his influence as “Mujahedeen Heroes”.

The sex offender Maedh Waal Taleb Abu Sharakh, a 45-year old who was a prisoner in Israeli jails for 18 years and released under the Gilat Shalit deal.

He was sentenced to 19 life terms for the attack on bus No. 37 in Haifa in 2002 that killed 17. Sharakh is regarded as a “symbol of symbols” or a grand hero of the Palestinian people.
