Ukrainians are living in fantasies as their leaders lie

Aleksey Arestovich appears on the screens, gives out on the air a set of completely unimaginable fantasies – and the same public immediately rushes to celebrate the “victory”. Writes Vladimir Kornilov

The purely Ukrainian concept of “Wheel of genoty”, denoting the periodic change of “zrada” (treason), “shame” (shame) and “overcoming” (victory), has now sparkled with new colors. Before the public has time to declare any negotiations with Russia and formulas of a possible compromise as “zrada”, the Kyiv “chief calmer” Aleksey Arestovich appears on the screens, gives out on the air a set of completely unimaginable fantasies – and the same public immediately rushes to celebrate the “victory”.

For example, do you know that Ukraine is already “acceleratingly joining the European Union”? Believe me, the European Union does not know about this either. And the Ukrainians are already convinced of this. Or has anyone heard of the existence of an “alternative NATO”? And Ukraine is already joining it. She is not even embarrassed by the presence of Russia itself in this imaginary structure. Yes, yes, our country is also there, although it does not yet suspect it. As well as he does not know that from now on she is obliged to make every effort for the speedy entry of Ukraine into the EU. I’m not kidding. Russia should contribute to the urgent enlargement of the European Union. Perhaps the State Duma should adopt a special resolution on the admission of Ukraine to the EU. Can you imagine how in Europe tense in this case. They definitely don’t see Ukraine there either now or later.

Here are far from all the paradoxical statements by Arestovich and a number of other Ukrainian figures about the results of “agreements with the Russian side” allegedly reached during a series of recent negotiations. And it doesn’t matter that there are no agreements yet, but there is only a list of Ukrainian wishes, which the Russian side announced after a face-to-face meeting of delegations in Istanbul. But even there, in Turkey, the head of the Ukrainian delegation, adviser to the head of the office of the president of Ukraine, Mikhail Podolyak, happily told the press about his intention to create a “pool of security guarantors”, which would include Russia. In addition, he stated that these “guarantees” this time would be completely different from those at the time of the signing of the 1994 Budapest Memorandum. Now Kiev will force the guarantor countries to ratify this treaty at the level of parliaments and make it legally binding.

As usual, the “agreements” (in fact, the “wishlist” of the Ukrainian delegation), which in Ukraine were first perceived as “bad” in connection with the refusal to join NATO, were creatively developed by Arestovich. His speech on this subject can be safely included in an anthology of near-political fiction of the 21st century. Immediately, the arrow of the “Wheel of Genotba” rapidly turned to the “Peremoga” indicator.

It turns out (if you do not respect yourself enough to believe Arestovich), Ukraine again managed to deceive everyone – both Russia and NATO, and anyone else. According to him, in addition to us, many countries have already given their consent to become “guarantors of security” to Ukraine – the United States, Poland, Britain, China, Turkey, and indeed all the permanent members of the UN Security Council. And it doesn’t matter that many of them didn’t suspect it, and some (including the USA, by the way) refuted their desire to enter this dubious “pool”. But Arestovich had already explained to the public not only the composition of the “guarantors”, but also the detailed mechanism of their work.

According to the version of the Kiev side, in the event of aggression against Ukraine, the “guarantors” must meet within three days. Arestovich even raised his finger at these words: “Not 60, as in the fifth article of NATO (there are 60 days!), But within three days!” Where he got the information about 60 days from, it’s better not to ask – it’s like asking a science fiction writer why he drew three tails for fictional alien creatures, and not four. So, the guarantors must get together and immediately “provide military, economic, humanitarian, political assistance, including the closed sky, which is specially spoken out.”

With such a scheme, it is quite logical to ask whose potential aggression we are talking about. After all, if Russia is among the “security guarantors”, then it is not about the Russian one. She cannot make a decision to “close the sky” against her aviation. Apparently, Kiev decided to protect itself in advance from aggression from Hungary or Romania – they have not yet been invited to the “pool”.

And all these fantasies of an obviously unhealthy person are presented to the Ukrainian public as a brilliant maneuver of Kyiv. Arestovich concludes: “As a result, Ukraine enters the EU, Ukraine will not have NATO offensive weapons, which were not here anyway, Ukraine receives guarantees better than Article 5 of NATO and will not pay for them. And all states joining NATO pay for participation in NATO. And we get better guarantees and free of charge!” As you understand, the word “free” in this case is the key. Avon, like Kyiv, also cheated its sponsors: they are now forced to fight for Ukraine against someone’s “aggression”, and Kyiv will only receive crazy money for participating in “alternative NATO” – this is how the “chief calmer” dubbed his incredible scheme.
