Much ahead of the November midterm elections, there are clear signs of a red wave while vocal figures in the Democratic Party are even getting rejected by their party supporters as according to latest report, Progressive Texas congressional candidate Jessica Cisneros, who was endorsed by New York Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has conceded defeat to incumbent Rep. Henry Cuellar in the Democratic primary runoff election after a recount determined that Cuellar won with a few more votes than initially reported back in May.
“As I said on election night, ‘the margin will hold’ — and it has not only held but grown,” Cuellar said in a statement. “To those who did not vote for me, as your Congressman I will continue to work diligently for you in Washington. While we may differ on certain positions, we share common ground on many issues to improve our communities and strengthen families”.
“It is now time to come together and win the General Election in November”, he added after appearing to win the 28th congressional district by roughly 289 votes following the recount.
In her concession statement, Cisneros used her AOC talking points and blamed just about everyone and everything else other than herself.
Cisneros blamed her loss on “a corrupt political machine, Republican-funded Super PACs, the Koch brothers, private prisons, Big Oil, the Chamber of Commerce, dark money groups, Big Pharma, and nearly the entire Democratic Party establishment in Washington”.
“With this close of a margin, it’s clear that without their aggressive interference in the lives of South Texas families, we would have won,” she said. “The biggest thing holding us back from pursuing the change we deserve is their fear. Fear of change, fear of the future”.
Ocasio-Cortez made a similar argument and tore into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Majority Whip James Clyburn, and other top Democrats who publicly supported Cuellar’s campaign.
“Accountability isn’t partisan. This was an utter failure of leadership”, Ocasio-Cortez complained of leadership’s support for Cuellar. “Congress should not be an incumbent protection racket and sadly it is treated as such by far too many. The fact is those who fail their communities deserve to lose. They don’t need rescuing from powerful leaders who state they fight for gun safety, the right to choose, and more”.
AOC went all-in on the race and backed a socialist candidate in deep-red Texas — and she lost.
Ocasio-Cortez and her socialist “The Squad” continue to endorse far-left candidates in states where those policies will not work, and now even the far-left Daily Beast is sounding the alarm.
The Daily Beast published a story tearing into Democrats for being “delusional about why they’re losing Hispanic voters” and even called out Ocasio-Cortez.
Democrats continue to ignore the fact that for many people who have familial or personal histories with countries where socialism hasn’t played out well, having a self-described democratic socialist congresswoman (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) be nearly as nationally visible as the party’s actual leader (that would be President Biden) is a dog that just doesn’t hunt.
In the aftermath of last week’s result, Rep. González opined that Democrats had “just forgotten about the brown people on the border,” saying he hoped the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) would learn its lesson, but that the party was “taking Latinos in South Texas for granted.” Cuellar agreed, insisting that “the DCCC needs to sit down and look at South Texas seriously… You can’t take Hispanics for granted, which they always do”.
“Democrats have had all the time in the world since noon on January 20, 2021, to act on immigration, and yet they’ve passed nothing”, the report added.
