Can Bing chat emerge into AI astrologer and palmist?

While Artificial Intelligence (AI) is purely science, and chatbots such as Bing or ChatGPT are products of AI, people are asking if chatbots can become future’s astrologers and palmists. Before going into details on this topic, let us first try to understand is AI and astrology coexist.

While for centuries, astrology has been a matter of interest while to many, it is rather a weird issue, as they say, astrology or palmistry aren’t based on science and solid logics. They say, bringing AI in the field of astrology and palmistry would be a “weird” attempt.

According to Tracxn, during the past five years, almost six astro-tech startups have appeared in public domain. It said, early-staged and venture capital investors are also interested in this field since they expect lucrative revenue. In this case, people are doing research on integrating astrology with Artificial Intelligence.

Since the beginning of time, astrology and horoscope as well as palmistry have been used for prediction of people’s future and fate almost in every country in the world. It also includes tarot-card prophecy as well as China’s ancient method of astrology and horoscope.

Unlike Western astrology, which follows the planetary positions and the cosmic placement of heavenly bodies, Chinese Horoscope is based on the lunar year in which the native was born. It is based on a twelve-year cycle with each year represented and governed by an animal. According to a popular belief, Buddha was the initiator of the Chinese zodiac signs. Upon his farewell from the earthly abode, he beckoned all the animals to bid him adieu, but only a few of them turned up for it. The twelve animals that came at his call were thus honored with a year each, solely dedicated to them.

According to Chinese Astrology the order of the twelve signs was explored by Buddha. Buddha invited all of the animals in the kingdom together for a meeting, but only 12 animals attended. The first animal to get there was the garrulous Rat and thus was placed 1. The next was the Ox and was placed 2, and finally pig was placed in number 12. Buddha gave each animal a year of its own, gifting the nature and characteristics of each to those born in that animal’s year. And, thus this way Chinese people believe that the years represented by the animals affect the characters of people. Like Vedic and Western Astrology there are also twelve zodiac signs attached to Chinese Zodiac Astrology but are represented with animal year. For example, your zodiac sign is Aries and you were born in year 1988, in Chinese zodiac astrology you will be known as Aries Dragon, and will possess qualities shown by Dragons.

In China, Taoist astrology is considered to be extremely powerful and accurate. Lao Tzu, Taoist god and a great philosopher of ancient China, truly said: “He who knows others is learned. He who knows himself is wise”.

According to advocates of astrology and palmistry, with the use of technologies such as Cloud Computing, Big Data Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, it would now be able to conduct an experiment on a large scale and give astrological analysis and prediction a solid statistical foundation.

There are numerous apps that generate a user’s “kundli” or horoscope based on straightforward inputs, but very few apps or businesses use automated intelligence to make the outcome more palatable for the end user.

Although people in the world of astrology and palmistry say, “The quality of the initial intake of basic data is what determines how well artificial intelligence functions. Although it is utilized as a forecasting tool, we don’t think of astrology as being that. Astrological patterns can be seen in history when looking backwards, but anticipating them is more difficult because of the many factors, ambiguous circumstances, and interconnected threads that influence events in many different ways”.

In my opinion, they are absolutely wrong or are still unaware of the future of Artificial Intelligence, where it would be useful in almost every sphere of life. For artificial intelligence to make astrological chart or read palms of a human would be possibly once person seeking his astrological reading or willing to know his/her future through palmistry can be made interactive with the AI chatbots through biometric methods. Meaning, the chatbot will meticulously read people’s palms and also give a astrological report based on data and facts. Unless astrology or palmistry are connected to spirituality, these can be integrated to Artificial Intelligence.
