Turkish hackers reportedly attacked the Cyprus parliament’s website last month. Writes Christine Douglass-Williams

Jihadists will use any and every method to advance their mission, from violent and stealth jihad to jihad by immigration, and now by computer hacking.

Turkish hackers reportedly attacked the Cyprus parliament’s website last month. The government issued a statement that “thanks to the timely treatment to the incident there was no negative result, while additional security measures were then taken for precautionary reasons.”

Greek Cypriots are the island’s internationally recognized government and an EU member, and they refuse to discuss any resolution to the Turkish occupation of northern Cyprus which would recognize an independent Turkish Cypriot state. Jihadists can never own enough territory. They always aim for more, as in the Middle East, where Muslim Arabs occupy a vast expanse of territory and still want Israel annihilated.

“Turkish hackers attack the website of the Cypriot parliament,” translated from “Τούρκοι χάκερς επιτέθηκαν στην ιστοσελίδα της κυπριακής βουλής,” by Manolis Kalatzis, Proto Thema, May 13, 2021:

The Cypriot Parliament confirmed the cyber attack in a statement which was posted by its official website on April 5, 2021.

“In its conclusions, the Digital Security Authority also finds that the incident of cyber attack against the website of the Parliament comes from a range of addresses that refer to a Turkish hacker group,” it stated.

Specifically, it stated that “following a relevant announcement by the House of Representatives of Cyprus on April 5, 2021, and after receiving the data analyses carried out by the Digital Security Authority, the House of Representatives announces that the cyber attack affected its official website on that date.”

The Digital Security Authority in conclusion stated in its announcement that the Parliament said “thanks to the timely treatment to the incident there was no negative result, while additional security measures were then taken for precautionary reasons.
