Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) approved a proposal to shorten the nighttime curfew to 10pm-4am, instead of the current 9pm-4am, and to resume other types of businesses and establishments, such as spas, cinemas, sports grounds and museums from October 1st in the dark-red provinces.

Government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said the CCSA meeting agreed to ease some COVID-19 restrictions, as proposed by the Ministry of Public Health. More types of businesses and establishments, such as spas, cinemas, sports grounds and museums, will be able to reopen.

He said restaurants and convenience stores will be allowed to open until 9pm. Restaurants can also provide live music, but the consumption of alcoholic beverages is still not allowed.

Meanwhile, the CCSA resolved to extend the current state of emergency, which is due to expire on September 30th, to November 30th and to postpone the reopening plan for five provinces under the ‘sandbox’ model from October 1st to November 1st.

Sexy Pattaya barber lures male customers

A Pattaya barbershop is luring in male customers by offering eye candy with their trim.

Barber B’s on Soi Khao Noi near Soi Wat Boonsamphan 9 is staffed by Ketsini “B” Jansang who traded in the usual barber’s smock for a revealing camisole and tight ripped jeans.

Ketsini, 36, said she worked for a normal company before the coronavirus pandemic. But after she was laid off, she enrolled in beauty school in Pattaya and learned to cut and style hair.

She rented a shophouse from a friend and, in between Covid-19 shutdowns, started her own business.

On September 1, when Barber B’s could reopen again, 40 customers filed through the door, and not all of them gawking men, Ketsini said.

While many are drawn by the low prices – 50 baht for kids and 100 baht for a simple barber-style cut – she acknowledges her looks help. But Ketsini insists she isn’t showing skin to get more hair to cut. The stylist said she normally dresses proactively.
