Former Fox News personality Eric Bolling said he was accosted this week at a restaurant by a man who maligned him by bringing up the tragic death of his son.

On his new show Thursday on Blaze TV, Bolling told viewers “something awful happened to me last night,” Hot Air blogger John Sexton reported.

“A guy who appeared to be talking on a cell phone walked by our table and turned toward us and said, ‘Eric Bolling’s son killed himself because he was embarrassed by his dad.’”

Bolling said the incident took place when he was sitting with friends Wednesday night at the Trump hotel in the nation’s capital. Among the people at his table was Hayden Williams, a University of California at Berkeley student who was punched in the face for wearing a pro-Trump “Make America Great Again” hat.

Bolling left Fox News in September 2017 after the Huffington Post published a story accusing him of sexual harassment. He denied the allegations and sued the author of the story. On the evening of a departure he described as “amicable,” he learned that his teen son, Eric Chase Bolling, had died from an accidental overdose after taking a Xanax tablet laced with Fentanyl.

After the man lobbed the ugly comment Wednesday, Bolling, admitting he was belligerent and angry, got up and followed him outside.

Videoing the interaction, he yelled at the man, who continued walking. Bolling soon was approached by a second man who was videoing with his smartphone.

Video provided by Bolling shows the Blaze TV host saying, “My son is dead.”

The second man, who Bolling said had a “big, disturbing smile,” put his camera in Bolling’s face as he continued to video.

Bolling concluded: “It’s an evil world out there. I’ve been exposed to way too many hateful comments on social media and in the media, but last night I came face to face with true evil, over politics, folks. Have we all lost our collective minds?

“We’re all human beings here and some things are just off limits,” he said.
