While reports in Antiguan media claimed Mehul Choksi was arrested from Dominica when he was visiting his girlfriend Babara Jarabica, a property investment consultant who had studied at the London School of Economics, no one has yet divulged the fact that Babara Jarabica has “intimacy” with Dominica’s scandalous Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and his wife. Skerrit was aware of Mehul Choksi, a multi-billionaire Indian national on run and wanted to get him into Dominica through honeytrap. Accordingly, Babara Jarabica was assigned and when she succeeded in getting Mehul Choksi into the grips of Roosevelt Skerrit, he had mysteriously vanished. Jarabica’s Instagram account has several photos of her on a luxury yacht and helicopter, proving her posh lifestyle.
Ever since fugitive Indian diamantaire Mehul Choksi was arrested in Dominica last week, several stories of how actually he was nabbed have been doing the rounds. Although Mehul Choksi’s lawyers have even claimed that Jarabica was used to ‘honeytrap’ the PNB Scam accused and said that Jarabica had befriended Choksi as per a plan by the Antiguan agencies – the reality is, Babara Jarabica was engaged by Roosevelt Skerrit for luring Choksi in visiting Dominica so that Skerrit would get him within his grips.
Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Browne had earlier said that Mehul Choksi may have left his sanctuary in Antigua and taken a boat ride to neighboring Dominica to have dinner or a ‘good time’ with his girlfriend. He said that the Government of Dominica and law enforcement agencies, unless the court rules otherwise, can deport him to India because he is an Indian citizen.
“The information that we are getting is that Mehul Choksi may have taken his girlfriend to Dominica probably to have dinner or have a good time and so on and got caught. That would have been a monumental error because in Antigua he is a citizen, we could not deport him”, he said in an interview to a local radio station as reported by Antigua News Room.
Choksi and his nephew Nirav Modi are wanted for allegedly siphoning almost US$ 2 billion of public money from the state-run Punjab National Bank (PNB) using letters of undertaking.
While Nirav Modi is in a London prison after being repeatedly denied bail and is contesting his extradition to India, Choksi took the citizenship of Antigua and Barbuda in 2017 using the Citizenship by Investment program before fleeing India in the first week of January 2018. An Indian-British named Paul Singh of a company named CS Global Partners, that deals in selling of citizenship of the Caribbean island nations had helped Choksi in buying citizenship of Antigua. For years, CS Global Partners has been running branch office in New Delhi, India which helps Indian nationals in secretly buying foreign citizenship and smuggling-out hundreds of millions of dollars each year.
It is learned from credible source that Mehul Choksi was abducted by Roosevelt Skerrit’s men when he was having dinner with Babara Jarabica and was taken into an isolated place, where Choksi was asked to pay US$ 100 million as ransom. As Mehul Choksi expressed inability of paying the amount, Roosevelt Skerrit’s men had mercilessly beaten the 62-year-old Mehul Choksi resulted in swollen eye and bruises all over his body.
Meanwhile in July, Dominica court granted Mehul Choksi bail on medical ground. Alleging that his arrest was “dictated” by representatives of the Indian government, Mehul Choksi had filed a case in the high court of Dominica’s Roseau city, seeking to quash the proceedings against him, local media there had reported. The case was reportedly filed against the immigration minister of the Caribbean nation, its police chief and the investigating officer of the case.
Although Mehul Choksi was released on bail, it is rumored in the Caribbean island nations that he had reached into a secret financial dealing with Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and a few influential members in his government. While, Mehul Choksi is now in Antigua, his girlfriend Babara Jarabica remains untraced till filling of this report.
