Saudi Arabia’s cultural legacy makes its way to get registered internationally

Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture, considered the leading role the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, have played to get the Saudi traditional weaving of Sadu, a non-material cultural legacy, registered at the UNESCO list in collaboration of the State of Kuwait, as crowning the efforts being exerted by the other relevant cultural entities to authenticate the Saudi cultural heritage and register it internationally.

He described the art of Sadu weaving as a genuine cultural element, citing its selection as logo of the recently-concluded G20 summit, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Inserting the Sadu weaving art in the UNESCO list of international non-material cultural heritage is an important step casting light on such deep-rooted art of our people, he concluded, vowing that the coming years would witness adding more and more Saudi non-material cultural items.
