Two more Muslim nations set to recognize Israel

Israel’s regional cooperation minister Ofir Akunis, told Ynet TV last week, that there were two more countries lined up to normalize ties with Israel before US President Donald Trump leaves the White House next month.

However, he did not name either but said one was in the Gulf but would not be Saudi Arabia.

The other, further to the east, is a “Muslim country that is not small” but is not Pakistan, Akunis said.

In recent months, the Trump administration has mediated rapprochements between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco.

According to diplomatic sources, following the establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and a number of Middle Eastern nations, there is a clear prospect of similar relations with the majority of the Muslim nations within the span of the next two years as policymakers in the Muslim nations are considering rivalry with the Jewish State as “illogical” and “whimsical” – considering global realities.
