Her name is Gayatri Amar Singh. She worked as a field officer in Cox’s Bazar district in Bangladesh under UN refugee affairs organization UNHCR. During her stay in Bangladesh, Gayatri entered into extra-marital affairs with a police officer named Babul Akhtar, who is now in police custody for killing his wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu.

According to sources, Gayatri Amar Singh is currently in the Netherlands, and she was in communication with Babul Akhter and Babul was planning to leave Bangladesh back in December last year and begin a “new life” with Gayatri. But the police officer could not accomplish this goal due to COVID situation.

The source said, Gayatri is currently working as the legal officer in an UN organization in the Netherlands.

Gayatri Amar Singh did not hide her extra-marital relations with Babul Akhter. In a book titled ‘Taliban’ it is mentioned, Gayatri and Babul first met on September 7, 2013 and a relation started between them. On October 5 the same year, Gawatri kissed Babul and two days later, they had physical relations. This was a beginning of a relationship between the Bangladesh police officer and Gayatri.

Babul’s wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu came to know about Babul’s relations with Gayatri in 2014, when Babul Akhter was in UNPKF. That was the beginning of deterioration of relations between Babul and Mitu.

On June 5, 2016, Mahmuda Khanam Mitu was murdered in Chittagong city. Initially no one could even sense, it was Babul who had hired killers for getting Mitu murdered. The reason was – Babul wanted to get rid of Mitu and begin a new life with Gayatri Amar Singh.

Meanwhile, the police officer Babul had played too many games and dramas with the police – with investigation agencies, and with the family members of Mahmuda Khanam Mitu for almost five years. Finally, he was arrested.
