According to media reports, farmers in India are planning to stage a massive ‘Kisan Parade’ [farmer’s parade] on January 26, when the country will celebrate its Republic Day. Thousands of female farmers have also expressed solidarity with this protest parade. For over a month, farmers in India are protesting against government’s controversial farm bills.

An organization named Bharatiya Kisan Union, is giving training to the female farmers, who would join the January 26 protest parade driving tractors.

Meanwhile, Indian authorities are going to deploy thousands of the members of law enforcement and security agencies to stop all entrance of Delhi prior to the Republic Day, with the motive of stopping Kisan Andolan members from entering the capital city.

Farmers protesting at the borders of Delhi for the last 41 days are from Punjab, Haryana, and western Uttar Pradesh. Because of raining for past few days, Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has provided temporary high beds in tents to protect the farmers protesting at Singhu border.

On condition on anonymity, an Indian official told Blitz, they are already worried about carrying out government’s order and stop the farmers from entering Delhi. The official said, there is maximum possibility of serious confrontation between the farmers and the law enforcement agency members, which would result in death of hundreds of male and female members of the protesting groups.
